Five Little Pigs Rolling In the Mud!

Standard
I found a cute piggy rhyme on www.everythingpreschool.com and added some movement to it to make it an action rhyme!  I made a few little pigs to go along with the action rhyme.  My pig pattern came from the Big Book of Patterns by Cindy Daoust and Dianne Badden.  I printed out the pig template on pink construction paper and colored them with brown crayon to make them look like they were rolling in the mud!  Check out my piggy storytime theme for more ideas!

Five Little Pigs

Five little pigs rolled in the mud (hold up 5 fingers, roll hands)
Squish, squash, squish, it sure felt good. (squash hands together)
The farmer took a pig out, and cleaned him up nice (point thumb up and wipe arms, take one pig off the board)

Four little pigs rolled in the mud (hold up 4 fingers, roll hands)
Squish, squash, squish, it sure felt good. (squash hands together)
The farmer took a pig out, and cleaned him up nice (point thumb up and wipe arms, take one pig off the board)

Three little pigs rolled in the mud (hold up 3 fingers, roll hands)
Squish, squash, squish, it sure felt good. (squash hands together)
The farmer took a pig out, and cleaned him up nice (point thumb up and wipe arms, take one pig off the board)

Two little pigs rolled in the mud (hold up 2 fingers, roll hands)
Squish, squash, squish, it sure felt good. (squash hands together)
The farmer took a pig out, and cleaned him up nice (point thumb up and wipe arms, take one pig off the board)

One little pig rolled in the mud (hold up 1 finger, roll hands)
Squish, squash, squish, it sure felt good. (squash hands together)
The farmer took a pig out, and cleaned him up nice (point thumb up and wipe arms, take one pig off the board)

No little pigs rolled in the mud (hold up 0 fingers, roll hands)
They all looked nice and clean
The farmer turned his back and what do you know!
All those little pigs jumped back in the mud! (put pigs back in the mud)

The kids enjoyed this, especially the squish squash part!  There were lots of “ewww’s”!  I put on a farmer hat just to add a little fun as I pulled the piggies out of the “mud”.
